My name is Danielle Hamlin and I am an elite personal trainer who dedicates my life to the study, practice, and teaching of fitness. With an inherited drive to help others, I originally went to college for psychology. However, upon the completion of my bachelor's degree, I realized that I was actually far more interested in fitness than I was in psychology. I constantly researched related topics, created goals around the subject, and loved being in the gym. The realization that fitness was actually my passion changed the course of my life. I immediately switched gears and began taking the necessary steps to fill my life with everything fitness.
The term fitness can be a very broad, ambiguous, and subjective word. Ask someone what fitness means to them and the term can change vastly depending on whom you’re chatting with. To some, fitness might mean losing weight. To others, it might mean lifting heavy. Even still, meanings could range from the ability to run a marathon, hit a 6ft box jump, or pack on pounds of muscle. To me, the term fitness encompasses all of these things because fitness is personal and has the ability to change over time depending on circumstances. With that said, I have discovered that there are underlying fields of study that translate across the various definitions of fitness. When these fields are understood and applied, one has the ability to maximize results across ALL interpretations of fitness.
There are 6 underlying fields of study that are necessary to understand in order to deliver a premium service. Those six fields are anatomy, biomechanics, myology, nutrition, physics, and physiology. Though very scientific, my training philosophy is actually quite simple: execution over everything. By understanding the 6 fields of fitness, I educate clients on how to properly execute exercises according to THEIR body. There will be no whipping around of weights. There will be no exercises arbitrarily picked for workouts. There will be no variables without a purpose. Each workout, each exercise, each rep will be tailored toward my client’s physical capabilities and needs. When a muscle in our body can function optimally at an individual level, that muscle can translate that efficiency and effectiveness over to advanced, more compound, total body moves. You can demand more from the muscle while drastically reducing your risk of injury.
Whatever your goal may be, because of my broad understanding of the 6 fields of study under fitness, I am 100% confident in my ability to get you to that goal.
